LSOH product usage in Railway stations and airports

Railway stations and airports are usually extremely crowded and very often people are unfamiliar with the building's fire alarm signals and escape routes.

Further confusion may be caused in an emergency, as many people may be tourists who speak a different language to the one used in safety announcements. These factors can cause confusion and delay an escape.
In this situation, fire-resistant and low fire-hazard cable technology can buy precious time and maintain the integrity of the atmosphere for emergency services for crucial extra minutes. The following are just some of the important international projects we have supplied cables for.

Hamburg International Airport

Opened in January 1911, and the oldest Airport in Germany still in operation. Originally covering 440,000 square metres, the site has since grown more than tenfold to 5.7 square kilometres. The main apron covers 320,000 square meters. The airport is 8.5 km north of the centre of the City of Hamburg in the Fuhlsbüttel quarter.

Madrid-Barajas Airport

Madrid-Barajas Airport is the main international airport serving Madrid, Spain. It is the country's largest and busiest airport, the world's 11th busiest airport (2008) and Europe's fourth busiest. It opened in 1928, and has grown to be one of the most important aviation centres of Europe. Located 13 km southwest of Madrid, the airport derives its name from the adjacent town of Barajas, which has its own metro station on the same rail line serving the airport.
